They throw him scrap change because they like him and he can market their products for them. People with far more money than Jay Z have been bankrupted. That is in contrast to a guy like Bill Gates who actively gives his money away at a rapid rate and it would still take decades before he was worth as little as Jay Z. Jay Z has to manage his money right or he could lose it all. A person with real wealth isn't subject to that reality.
