So the Coli Consensus for 2015 HipHop AOTY is Lupe Fiasco's Tetsuo and Youth Right?

Why wasn't there a thread/poll to establish this title in here? You know, like how the Arcadium does Game of the Year?

:dahell:

Coli's Album of the Year?

:jbhmm:

Not even a nomination thread

What makes these two albums so much better than DS2 that its laughable to suggest that its superior and AOTY? :dwillhuh:

The only other album that is still getting play from me that dropped last year is Dark Sky Paradise. :yeshrug:
I just didn't see all the hype for DS2. I wasn't blown away by it, it has some bangers which you expect but so did Rae Sremmurd's album

Really, nothing homie. Objectively, DS2 is a great choice for AOTY as far as mainstream albums go.

Medium Sean was lyrically sharp, had dope production, features, AND multiple hits on this album. It was a complete piece of work.

Personally I just can't rock with Sean like that cause his voice/delivery is wack to me :manny:

That's funny. I don't like Sean either, like at all..but I kept hearing the hype around the album and gave it a shot and he was spazzin' on most of them tracks.

I own 90% of Lupe's discography and although I thought I liked his album, even told some homies Lupe was back, I listened to it maybe twice in full.

And TPAB? I live in Southern Cali and other than that first week when me and the homies was going crazy cause Kendrick finally dropped, none of us have bumped it since other than few tracks.

It be like that sometimes :yeshrug:

The difference is T&Y and TPAB are like art pieces, both experimental in their own right. T&Y from a lyrical standpoint and Kendrick from an overall musical standpoint. The content on them are more dense than your average rap album and can require time to fully digest.

I tip my hat to both these nikkas for their left field approach.
