If Newton hadn't been such a generational talent, I would say all the specified complaints--the porous line and below average receivers--are just convenient excuses for failure. But as it stands, Newton does show flashes with the appropriate talent around him. Ostensibly then Carolina's woes don't begin and end with Cam Newton. The Panthers lose receiving, line and defensive talent. Accordingly Newton's production declines in the same direction. Gettleman says nothing and everyone piles on the lowest hanging fruit. Dramatic but predictable.

They're still feeling the effects of Marty Hurney's ineptitude. He invested a shytload of money into an underwhelming backfield. I think the Panthers only have a handful of draft picks still on the roster. One of them is Greg Hardy and he's suspended.

But during the Saints game, our shytty ass defense still gave him opportunities to make plays and dude accuracy was piss poor horrible. So I aint gone act like he great even if he does have weapons, but he would atleast be decent.
