They overdo it sometimes when they call it on players who catch a pass and drive. It's almost like they already predetermined that they are calling a travel on the initial move.
Almost have to dribble in place after catching a pass now to not have a turnover happen.

they're not going to call it on Ja, Ja carries like a mfer when he gathers into his drive and they didn't make any calls against him after that Poole game when he got 3 called against him in one game. All these young guards carry/palm the basketball and move their feet before putting the ball on the floor but they seem to pick and choose who they call it on. Haliburton carried/traveled like 2x on that play before the pass that led to the buzzer beater against the Lakers.

Why even post the Steph play? He clearly traveled. Can't take a step, then another step, then step with your pivot foot twice. You can say they miss some calls, but so what, does that mean they shouldn't call anything?

I hated that the NBA over the years allowed traveling to such prevalence that the quality of the game was affected. The validity of wins/losses was affected. It was hard to watch seeing people get away with things that they shouldn’t have been able to do. It was very frustrating with how inconsistent they were with the officiating of it too.
So I’m very glad if they really are cracking down on traveling but I’m more convinced this is just inconsistency.

that man deadass introduced that gather stepback to the world saying "it's gonna look like a travel"
refs are cracking down on all that borderline shyt now it seems
The thing is, he made sure to master it before introducing it to the world. When he wrecked the league with it players started rushing their imitations in order not to fall behind. Of course, all NBA players including Harden travel every so often but Harden's fundamental game doesn't consist of extreme palming every other dribble and lazy halfassed moves. He just exploited a loophole to the max but he put in the time to get it right most of the time.
