they should just create a belt with john cena's face on it because lets me serious, he's the champion.
I don't think there doing that intentionally, SmackDown! don't got that many superstars and if you want new guys to win the title, you're gonna get Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, etc. I'm sure if the WHC was on RAW, this wouldn't be the case.

the real reason the whc belt is devalued is because it's a wcw belt and vince for some reason thinks it's hilarious to bury his own property.

eehhh hate to say it but have to say it, belt ain't been top dog since Triple H dropped it Batista. Hell ain't Hunter the only reason that belt is in the WWE
The fact that the World Heavyweight Champion was the first match of the night for the past couple of Wrestlemanias makes me agree with the thread title.

Remember when at one point the WHC was bigger than the WWE title? When it was the RAW championship and Trips was holding on to it they made it seem way more important than the WWE championship.

R-Truth shouldve won the Raw tournament last year to continue his fued with Cena and they gave it to Rey 
Championship belts in general seem to be used differently these days.
Used to be that you had to be over before you were considered for a championship belt. Now, a lot of the time, they see a guy they want to push and they give him a belt to get him more over.
But yeah, the WHC belt does seem kinda secondary these days.

I still don't understand why they let Rey win the tournament and the title only to lose it to Cena an hour later... only to lose it to Punk a few days later... only to lose it to Del Rio a few minutes later... damn that was a lot of title changes in a spand of a month.
