So these are considered assists now?

The Truth
There is nothing in the rules about 2 dribbles. If you throw an outlet pass ahead of the pack, that's an assist no matter how many dribbles. But if you're in the post or on the perimeter and you're out there pivoting, pumpfaking, etc, the passer didn't assist shyt.
And there isn't nothing not in the rules about 2 dribbles

I said thats what is said in the games. If you watched the game, maybe you wouldve heard it

So your point is mute... You are not an nba score or statician. The site also said it's basically up to the statician but commentators have said 2 dribbbles which everyone in that clip took

Makes his rough start looking even worse. I didn't know they were THAT generous with assists.
It's not just Lonzo either. And I see CP3's name been mentioned in here multiple times, to be fair to him it didn't start with him, it's been an issue for a long time now.

Ok Crazy

Because its never been like that.

Its when you get in position to score... Usually after 2 dribbles.

im sure there are other examples as well

But they LITERALLY say it during games.. If he takes MORE than 2 dribbles it's not an assist

No one ever really read me a rule book on assists but it just made sense to me. An assist is pretty much all because of the pass. Taking two dribbles (if not in a fast break) is more than enough for a good player to create his own shot and in that case the person who passed to them shouldn't get the credit. Maybe I just have a higher standard than most :yeshrug:

Hockey assists should count though:hubie:

You're just rambling. Assists are entirely a judgment call, there is no rule about number of dribbles. I don't know why you're even quoting commentators.
