Hollywood is all about image and illusion. Thats whayou have those that crashout after their time is over.
The look up and realize they have no money, they lost all their dignity doing whatever it took to get on, and now rent is due and they can't stand people seeing them so "low" when they tried so hard to be and portray themselves as so "high"

If you aren't getting producers credits or off your first contract on a longrunning tv show you are working check to check and thats on you.

They got tooo much pride to be like my boy Alvin from the Cosbys who works at Trader Joes and has full benefits and enough flexibility to take work.

So the fukk what! :dead:
You don't know what he was meaning by using the term "made" in the interview!

He could mean what he "made" after everything he had to pay........... Or the total of what he made!
If he oly made $12,000 before paying expenses he walked away with nothing...

Tax would be $2000
Agent would be $1000 - $1500
Lawyer min $5000
Don't forget the publicist - $2500
Personal assistant - $2000
- that would put him -$1000 in the hole for taking that role.

He's talking about what he took home after all his expenses and fees.

And honestly most pro agents, publicists or PA's aren't working for that little amount. And they get paid based off of the amount before taxes, not after. Well not PA's.

He should have negotiated to have his pay increase with each numerical milestone the movie hit. Maybe a percentage or 2. Even if the movie only made $23 million, at 1% he could have walked away with $230,000. But when your desperate and need to pay bills you take the upfront offer and never consider the backend.

This happened to all the actors who were in City of God except Seu Jorge who took a percentage.

Also what RDJ did to Disney with the Avengers. Took a percentage of the back end. He n3ver has to act again.

Ok bruh

We weren’t there so who knows

If you believe otherwise :manny: ok cool but the thread is about buddy getting $12k for a movie role in 2005.

He had zero clout (for lack of a better word) the year RDJ was cast (which was 2006) to make anything like that happen.

Zero clout to who though?

We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes or what relationships are and aren’t created.

For all we know, he could’ve been cool with RDJ (not like he was poppin around that time either, Marvel revitalized his career) and could’ve dropped a hint about RDJ to his agent or to a casting director about trying him for the lead role.

Obviously, he had enough clout to get the role of Rodey himself

I mean, anything is possible but there's no proof any of that happened, nor did Farveau (who actually put his rep on the line to cast RDJ) ever mention it at any point. So :yeshrug:

I gotta homeboy who lives in LA and does a little acting. He said you’d be surprised how many actors have a bunch of side gigs they do to keep the lights on. My boy has had some small roles in some big tv shows but most of his income comes from doing voiceovers and appearing as a character in video games

I’m not gonna put his business out there but he’s been a default character in a couple big games. A bunch of us on this site have played with the nikka
:dame:
i have a homegirl whos been on shows. movies, and commercials..all of that..she works in the aviation industry in between gigs for a check

I believe it was reported Terrance had to put his co-sign on RDJ as well, which is why he was made a co-lead on the film as RDJ was starting his umptenth comeback after self destruction and only really had Gothika and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang under his belt in that comeback

Which is why Terrance was mad that RDJ didn't stand up for him for the sequels, like he stood up for him
