Philly dudes ain’t going to respect for you for liking tourist Pats. Lololol.

My cousins always get mad at me when I eat from them. Hahah

Geno's is even worse, it's owned by a racist.

I always knew not to go to Pat's or Geno's. When I went to Philly I asked locals for recommendations and so far I've got Iskabibble and Jim's. I've heard good things about Tony Luke's too

If you’re in NYC why are you ordering a cheesesteak anyway? Get yourself a chopped cheese and call it a day.

Chopped cheese isn't really a traditional NYC food either (at least not citywide). I tried it once and didn't think it was anything special

Yea that I know. I’ll be in Philly in 2 weeks and for the first time I won’t be going there for cheesesteaks but will be trying this soul food spot instead.

Smart move, because it's a pet peeve of mine when people come to New York and only eat stereotypical foods like pizza and bagels. The real interesting part of NYC's food to me is the widely varied ethnic and American cuisines. I rarely fukk with pizza, bagels, hot dogs, etc. anymore

I guess if you’re in the hood but if you are searching for a restaurant that sells good Philly cheesesteaks there a few and enough options.

I made my own little list cause I’m a fan of cheesesteaks and if I’m not eating then with my cousins in Philly I at least know where to go to in NY.

Brooklyn, Staten Island and Manhattan .

There are definitely places you can go to get a good cheesesteak. But I never associated cheesesteaks with nyc like that growing up. Beef patty + coco bread? Yup. Chopped cheese or a bacon egg and cheese on a hero? Hell yeah. But a cheesesteak? That’s just something you have to know where to go if you want a good one.

The food scene in NYC is so much different now than 20 years ago. I eat tacos way more than pizza or bacon egg and cheeses. People don't associate NYC with Mexican food for instance, but it's commonly found and many people enjoy it. It's becoming more and more mainstream.

Now you can find like 100 different ethnic cuisines (well executed) as well as various American styles. I'm so bored with pizza that I don't even think about it

He’ll no I don’t associate cheesesteaks with NYC but I’m at least happy the city has enough spots that make a great cheeseateak.

The beauty of New York City is all the different cultures represented in food. It’s literally one of the only places I’ve ever lived where you can easily find a great version of anything you might want to eat.

No doubt. I only bring it up cause clowning nyc over cheesesteaks is kinda :stopitslime: to me. If you know where to go for a good one, you know. Same way I know one of the best hot dogs on the east coast can be found at a hole in the wall spot at journal square in jersey city.
