Not really.. Spotify has a free option with no credit card requirement for limited use.. Tidal doesn't... A small percentage of Spotify users actually pay for the premium service...
So Tidal really is a failure...

I still don't how Apple & Beats is gonna be able to pull people from Spotify. It's already been reported their won't be a free-tier. Apple's goal is get people to pay for a streaming music service.

You know maybe if:
1) It wasn't so damn expensive
2) It wasn't marketed as a competitor to Spotify and instead marketed for audiophiles
3) If the advertising wasn't so overzealous with it's 'second coming' bullshyt.
4) If the app worked
5) If it had decent customer service
6) It didn't start as a limited release
maybe, just maybe it could've been successful

yeah i think its only actually big in sweden or some other scandanavian country
that press conference was one of the unintentionally funny, most cringe worthy things i've seen all year.
seemed like straight up satire but they were all deadly serious..even had poor Beyonce having to write.
i assumed they were going to drop an album to go with it right from the jump and then trickled out artists releases over the rest of the year with it culminating in the rumored Jay/Beyonce album.
the amount of money he funnelled into Tidal Hov could have squashed the beef with Cam and invested in Dipset Duvets & Killa Curtains (TM pending)
got himself some Egyptian cotton Cam'ron covers for Blue Ivy.

If you want the version similar to the Spotify version, you can get that on Tidal for the Spotify's price i.e price shouldn't be an issue here. However, if you have good speakers and a good sound system, you can elect to get the high quality streaming version for $20. For those complaining about paying, streaming without advertising is really the future: all the music that i want to play, i can get that on the spot, create playlists etc. If there is no connection where im going, i create and offline playlist and the playlist tracks get downloaded onto my phone.wtf is wrong with you guys. This was a bad idea and a bad rollout. Nothing worked for it but you guys want to blame white people smh. Neither of you are dumb enough to buy it but want to act like we a brainwashed c00ns because we aren't dumb enough to pay $20 for something we can get for free or for $8. The sound is good but if you dont have top notch speakers it really doesn't matter. People fail im business ventures everyday. Stop blaming white people for everything you make yourself look weak. Like youre not in control of your own life.
Anyway, still early days and dooms day prophets are just speculating
