roy is probably my 4th or 5 favourite boxer ever
but u really tellin me can OUTBOX floyd mayweather?
floyd wouldnt knock him out
he definitely outsmart him though

:what: Is this some kind of new Coli inside joke? Do these cats even know who Roy Jones is? Michael Jordan bowed down to this guy when they got them all together in 1999 on ESPN for the big winners of the year. They kept trying to talk about Jordan but he kept going back to Roy like he was his biggest stan:laugh:

He played in some shyt league game before a fight one time. :comeon:, even the haters would have to admit Floyd would not do that.

Dude is one of the most skilled fighters ever. Not to mention he arguably has the GOAT ring IQ

Ricardo Lopez got Mayweather on that. Lopez was truly something. Only diehards give him the credit he deserves.

If Floyd was naturally the size of Roy then I would think Floyd would win, but not Floyd moving up in weight.

What exactly are we arguing here just to be clear?

1. Who is better P4P or the greater overall fighter?

My stance is Floyd takes it in this dept. He will be ranked higher than Roy I think when it's all said and done. Plus Floyd is mentally tougher than Roy, a more skilled defensive fighter, and better at pure offensive execution.

2. Who would win if a real life fight at 154?
I think this is dumb to get into 1st of all because these fighters are not close in weight and neither of their primes are at this weight, nor have they spent extended time in their careers at this weight.

But ok lets go there. Floyd is near his physical prime & at his mental prime at this weight. He's truly great in all areas except knock out punching power. Roy at this weight is not in his prime. Roy is just beginning his career and he fights with his hands down, and defends with his legs & reflexes. The bigger thing is that Roy is extra cautious at this weight even against bum ass fighters. Imagine if Roy knew he was fighting a great accomplished fighter, who is nearly as skilled & as fast as him & undefeated. How cautious do you think he would be then?

Fight would be mad boring and either could conceivably outpoint the other. Floyd being the better defensive fighter and far more experienced & seasoned, I'd definitely favor him.

3. A prime Roy vs a Prime Floyd?
This is even more absurd. So Floyd at 147 vs Roy at 168? Why even argue such nonsense?

No. I'm caught up what I've seen Roy do in his prime and what you're envisioning? It's just would never happen.

Pretty much people in here only care what someone has done later in their careers or you only as good as your last fight to them. Now we have people trying to downplay his accolades such as him being the first former middleweight champion to win a heavyweight title in 106 years which is in the history books. If it was so easy how come more fighters are not doing it on a regular basis? I know some of yall going to come back and say well it was John Ruiz he sucks; he gave some legit heavyweights at the time some challenging fights and nobody wanted to fight him because of his style.
