Americans will imagine the world ending before imagining America is not number one

I actually agree with this
America isn’t #1 in a lot of shyt, who cares.
The bigger issue is that EVEN IF AIG does take until 2030 (like you admitted people have talked about) instead of 2027… the exponential growth of AI and therefore the instability in the job market and how we function as a society will GREATLY and VASTLY change how we function as a society compared to nearly every other time in human history… and we aren’t ready or prepared for it and just have to hope that the powers that be are putting “us” in a good position
There are people already coming out saying that within the next couple years nearly 50% of entry level white collar jobs will be eliminated and given to AI
Then you cross that bridge when you get there
What do you suggest we do about it until then? All learn LLM and switch our entire lives to AI?
A lot of this shyt is wait and see what happens and if things will actually go as planned/predicted, or if there will be a change and turn.
Corporations are jumping on this AI bandwagon as a faddish way to make money and cut workers. Thats because they are shytty humans, not because of AI.
“AI” is a fukking tool. AGI is something else.. a programmable worker that can imitate thinking. These dudes just want any excuse to not pay for the labor.
When AGI comes, hopefully it will be in a monitored and responsible way/setting with safe guards in place and specific policies in place for whatever can be predicted, but until then who knows
