Thought this thread would be about Michael Jackson's saliva.
People hate to think about things like this, but its quite true. Our generation (those of us in our 20s) are fukked because of the older heads holding on to that power. I think @8MM3 talked about this before. We are struggling in many aspects of our lives because people in their late 50s and early 60s are still holding on to positions that used to be available to THEM in their 20s and 30s. Same old thinking...keeping all the cash and passing it off to their offspring. We are about to have an entire generation full of college grads who never really make a good amount of money as a result of all of this.
Everyone just go ahead and think of the industry you work in...for my company the head of the division in Lexington was 70 years old man. Dude was pulling in 150K per year and just recently decided to retire because "he was tired"....70! Who replaced him? Someone he obviously recommended...guy is 56

Was a bit of a rant, but it applies to this situation. Take a look at many of the doctors that are working on us...many of them are old and they are not going to make any radical changes that might jeopardize their NICE salaries.
We NEED younger people at the top because they go in with a world of new ideas that the older generations are either not aware of or can't be bothered with it because it might challenge what they learned growing up. Life is a process of renewal...why shouldn't the top be renewed? How does it benefit ANYONE when the people at the top of the health professions have a base of their knowledge based on textbooks and information that was out in the 70s?
there is no cure for cancer cause cancer is a collective term used to describe over 100 different diseases that starts when abnormal cells divide without control and invade other cells. some cancers are curable, some only locally, and others treatable depending on when it's discovered and of course there are a few you can't do anything about. Since they're caused by mutation of the cells there can be many things that cause them from genetics, environment, lifestyle etc and is the reason why some of them are hard to treat for some people and others are treatable for the same type of cancer. i think a big step towards curing or treating most cancers is when we have more advanced personal medicine cause each person's cancer is unique.
