Then, to add on the fact that driver's licenses/state IDs technically don't prove the holder is a citizen or prove a lawful presence check has been conducted. That's why the whole RealID shyt is fugazi. shyt ain't nothing but a modern-day poll tax. Why is a DMV issued ID more valid than a state university ID? Both are issued by a state agency/entity.
Hell, Texas had to revamp its state law because legal voters who were using their military ID were being denied their lawful right to cast a ballot. They slippery-sloped tf out of themselves every time they try to make it harder for one or more non-white groups to vote with their bullshyt structural burdens and unequal remedial pathways.

how can it intimidate anyone. both republicans and democrats meet up at polling stations. that means they'd have to ask every political party for ID which of course people will have as you need identification to vote. "let me see your ID and proof of" "ok here" because everyone at the stations actually have them. again, its counter productive and a waste of time and resources.
