I'd imagine gay groups are disappointed that they tied their wagon to a dead horse. I commend him for coming out but it wasn't nearly as impactful as advertised. He's not a good player, was never good, etc. Having an active roster player come out would be ideal, and would actually justify having a SI cover, getting the president of the US to commend you, etc. He was the toast of DC for awhile.

You're teasing out what you want from this story, and sharing the same social space as a white nationalist crying about the liberal, pro black, "jew agenda". You dont have to liter your posts with crude slurs, in order to communicate an anti gay agenda; much in the same way that racists code their anti black subtexts with subliminal rhetoric that makes their intent loud and clear.
Peddling this "agenda" talk is a dog whistle...as if to imagine that there is some sort of elite homo mafia that is trying to indoctrinate us all, with the goal every man has a dyck in his hand, rather than people simply wanting the same rights as other americans. This "agenda" you speak of, consists of a positive human rights story, and the idea that discrimination against a group is wrong. Collins, in coming out, has exposed himself to an anti-gay element that is quite vitriolic, and for that he has received props and support. Im not clear why you would paint that as a negative, unless you have your own agenda here.
