So whats the best black soap?

Do not buy the Nubian Heritage or Shea moisture one. shyt aint authentic, it may work for you but its not the proper hand made fully natural ish.

You can probably find some real authentic generic brand on Amazon or your local ethnic store.
Or you can get Dudu Osun, which is branded authentic Nigerian Black soap.

Dudu after like 2 weeks ended up burning my skin around the high cheek/eye area.

Another joint I bought off the internet at butters-n-bars was way too mild as an actual cleanser, so I stopped messing with black soap

That shyt you posted smell too sweet for me. You can try it if you want but to be honest I like their Indian Hemp/Vetivier soap more than their Black Soap. I fukks with Dudu-Osun for Black Soap, its more neutral and organic. Got that natural African scent to it. Add some good lotions and oils and you on your Prince of Zamunda shyt.

i messed with Dudu Osun for a good 5-6 years and would buy a case of 6 regularly at an African market in Harlem. I like the smell and that it was all natural. But like with many black soaps you gotta put it in its own soap dish because it runs and can/will stain your tiles and bathtub. I recently started messing this honey & oats soap from trader joes that is cheaper and feels fresher on my skin. I just wanted to try something different after all of these times. But I recommend to my family and friends to use black soap. It does a great job on our skin

Raw black soap from Ghana is the shyt.

That smells SOOOOOOOOO CLEAN!!! Nikka be feeling like an african Mr Clean after using that shyt.

I'm tryna come up on some good ass scents though, a nikka be smelling too normal thesedays. I need a good oil or organic cologne.

Probably the lime that may be irritating your face.
I use it my face got used it.
I know what you mean about the others being mild I tried some Ghana black soap and it felt mild as well, I found dudu osun worked better for clearing my face quicker.
Trials and error breh try another brand.

Or I guess you could look for handmade natural soaps in general online as an alternative. Like Shea butter soaps.

Could try Allafia might be a bit pricey though
They have liquid black soaps and specially formulated face cleansers using natural ingredients.

I specifically bought Dudu Osun just because I wanted to support local merchants and I know the soap is not coming out of a factory somewhere. The African market I go to here in NY is in Harlem and theres all kinds of lux condo developments that have popped up all around the market. That market has been around a while and it's just folks with their booths selling soaps, oils, books, clothing, artifacts, etc., so I try to patronize those local businessmen/women.

I was also letting sit/lather for a little before I rinsed, could that be the problem?

But yeah it could be causing irritation I wouldn't do that so often or at least till your skin gets used to it.

exact reason why I like to use it.

I've been using Irish Spring cause I've been too lazy to cop, but I'm tossing it in the garbage after my shower tomorrow morning it's like a cheap abrasive cleanser I feel like I'm using chlorox. My skin is fine but I feel like it's not doing my skin any favors.
