yeah queen latifah's character...I really like it . I agree about Carlton tho, easily my least favorite character and Lisa ain't doing it for me. You can’t go from Nia to the current actress. She could have easily been a different character and I would probably feel different .

It's a dark version with some funny moments. Geoffrey a whole G and that's my favorite twistHillary might be the finest woman on television right now
They made Geoffrey the Magical Negro. I done seen three instances in 5 episodes where this nikka just pops up out of no where and magically makes everything better then just disappears till the next episode.

A Family Matters reboot could really dive into some of the issues the original glanced over like Steve's parents hating him and him attaching himself to the Winslows as a surrogate family. But I think Family Matters would be way harder to do than Fresh Prince due to how insane and over the top it was. LIke, how would Stefan exist in a show like this? As Steve's brother?I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would have been trashed but the show has been great to me.

Peeped the first episode yesterday and thought it was pretty alright. Didn't mind it at all.
But other than being Fresh Prince on the surface its really different. The original was a sit com, this is drama-comedy from what I gathered.

Every sitcom isn't going to work as a drama. The Fresh Prince works because there was a lot of source material to touch on that you can only delve so deep in when you have a live studio audience and in sitcom format Plus being a 8 oclock lead in show NBC probably didn't want them getting too too deep on social commentary. Basically there is more freedom now and less pressure for the show to succeed.
But I doubt this is going to set a new precendent for other sitcom to drama remakes but there will be one or two copycats that can work. Hell Good Times could work as a drama series for instance.
