Why you think they gotta dump Crowder? He hardly makes anything and would be a fantastic bench piece for an old roster.

JR goes before Crowder does. Use IT to get someone to take JR's contract, use Love to get someone to take Shump's contract, and use the pick to get someone to take TT's contract. Carmelo comes through one of those trades, and if the other stuff is all expiring contracts, then Cavs have $30 million in space.

The question is whether Wade/CP3 would take a pay cut to play for that team if it means bringing the Superfriends together.

That's a damn thin roster...really depends on one of the centers working out and someone coming in to be a backup point guard (would Rose sign another year for nothing?). But Lakers in 2004 almost made it work with a super-thin roster, and Boston in 2008 did make it work without a ton of depth.


An interesting thing would be if Milwaukee wants anything Cleveland has...say trade IT/TT/Shump/JR/Nets pick for Monroe/Henson/Middleton.* Let Monroe walk, sign CP3 on a pay cut, and you have:

That would be an incredibly versatile lineup even though its thin. Osman/Crowder would be the perfect inserts to match against the Warriors' Death Lineup.

That's the point - if CP3 wants the max, the numbers don't add up whether Crowder is on the team or not.

Crowder is too good a fit against the Warriors to give up for that cheap. I can't imagine any scenario where giving him up helps them win unless it is necessary to get PG13 or Butler on the team. There ain't no 3-and-D guys at his level for 7 million/year.

IDK ...obviously it'd be great to start winning again ASAP. I still lean more to building your team around your core & growing. I'd be cool with PG for the fact he can grown with Zo & BI. Bron gone be around for 3yrs max?

My theory:

Knicks have a nice break out season. Melo is back a top 10 player.

Things dont work out with CP3 and Harden in Houston. Plus Goldenstates winning the West regardless.

Knicks will get JR to return with Lebron. and CP3 follows (really I dont even think they'd need CP3 but why not )

If possible Knicks will have a nice versatile and virtually unbeatable line up:

CP3. Frank (hoping he develops into a nice 2 way guard)

JR Smith, Tim Hardaway, Lee or Dotson and Frank can also play the 2 guard

Melo or Bron (can play both position) Maybe Tim Hardaway Jr too

Bron at PF naturally, Kristaps PF (if Bron at 3) Melo (PF if Bron at 3 and Kristaps at Center)

Or Kristaps finally ready to be Center, Hernangomez as backup

Lebron to NYC would be the biggest thing to happen in the NBA since I dont know when. New York is the Mecca

Sixers - Full of young talent, friends with Simmons, and winning a ring in Philly would improve his legacy.
Knicks - Friends with Melo, more business opportunities, and winning a ring in NY may push him over Jordan.
Lakers - Young talent, business opportunities, and cap space.
Rockets - CP3 is already there and the owner is looking to sell the team which LeBron has expressed interest in being an owner one day. This may be far stretched but maybe he forms a ownership group that purchases the team?
