aldon benefits from justin's play, but hes a great pass rusher on his own. people went from severely underrating justin to overrating him.

lol at trading aldon for revis. alex smith idea was just a throw in, if jets would want him.

1st rounder+throw-in is about revis' value as a rental right now.

Revis will not be a rental. There is a zero percent chance he plays for 6 mill in 2013. Contract will be worked out with the trade.

you jets fans come off really retarded in this thread.

niners went to OT of the championship game last year and are in the SB this year. getting someone like revis for a year, even if he plays at 50-75% of what he used to be, lays serious claims for another SB trip

jets having revis for another year is meaningless. if they dont get picks for him he'll just walk away after this year (now Im not sure if they can franchise him, so maybe Im a bit wrong if they can)

jets should feel extremely lucky if someone offers 1st and 3rd for a rental.

check the original post in this thread, no one said shyt about the niners except the niner fan throwing alex smith's name out there

jets fans know it's pay him now or trade him now. some wouldn't entertain the idea, some say to do it, regardless they're easily getting a first rounder, go read any article out today...and it's not bc of "luck," it's because he's just that good.

Its just bs anyways....more than likely there wont be players involved in a trade....but Revis is a HOF player....if im the Jets you start the negotiations off with a player you covet.

Bowman would be on my list as well. Alex Smith? Hang up the phone.
:heh:
you are an idiot if you think if you are getting picks AND franchise players for a rental.

joe montana was a surefire HoF. niners traded him, third rounder and a player for the chiefs first rounder in 1994

Again, he's not a rental.

Revis is a HOF'er.

Montana was old. Jets got two first round picks for Keyshawn and a first round pick for John Abraham. Revis better than both of those guys.

talking about idiots, any revis trade is contingent upon the team receiving him having revis agree to a long term deal obviously, he's not gonna be a rental for anyone

if hes not a rental, Niners are out. they dont have 18 milly to give to revis.

what they have to offer is opportunity to play for a premier team for a year, prove hes back on his grizzly, and get a big payday next year.

yea basically that's the problem with any team, unless he hits the free agent market, he wants to be the highest paid defensive player, which means at least $16 million per year and $50 million in guarantees (more than Mario Williams money)

the guy had a torn acl and theres no way to evaluate him right now...I mean if teams are feeling lucky, they can get him a long-term deal and regret it later :russ: fine with me.

it would be nice if he could go back home and play for the steelers, troy would at least play for 2 more years and our pass rush will be a force again.

too bad the rooneys dont like to pay anybody that will make a significant difference on there team :beli:

They can't franchise him. If he walks, we get a $9 mil cap hit and a 3rd round comp pick anyway.

Why are you assuming that whoever gets him will simply rent him? Whoever trades for him better be prepared to give him an extension.

If they don't have Revis, there's no one to build around, nobody worth paying money to go see, and we still don't know if anything else can get replaced with him. It's a lost season, but he's really all the team has left besides probably Wilkerson. Think about it. Fez gets to stay, Holmes gets to stay, but the best player on this team the last 30 years besides Curtis Martin has to go for some unknowns that we know will never be as good as him. If that's how shyt's gonna go down, deal everyone and cut everyone besides Wilkerson and don't bother trying next year.

Unknown reasons? The reason is he's too expensive. You can get two starting caliber players for what youre locking into Revis.

what positions these starters gonna be?

you're gonna have to get another corner, and what else?

you're not getting a RB or QB in this draft regardless of any pick you get
