because of the injury, what revis will command is anyones guess, but he wont be really cheap.

on other hand, it might be tough to get anything better than a low 1st rounder for him as the main piece in a trade, if that. he could be seriously gimped.

That's the key too, with that injury who knows what he`ll command.

But i`m thinking the Jets can sucker someone like Dallas into taking that big risk.

I`d love to see the 49ers take a shot at him honestly. Alex, this years #1 and a conditional 2/3 pick in the future.

Id be down tbh, but how much money will he want ? if we re-sign dashon, we wont have much left at all. wed have to move one of our corners then, prolly los as hes making the most. I dont see it happening tho

Yeah I don't see it happening either, but I do see us as possible trade partners with them due to Alex.

I was talking with friend of mine, huge Jets fan, he seems okay with Revis getting dealt.

Thought maybe Dallas as they have the crazy owner for it, maybe they trade Ware and a couple picks.

I'm gonna say none and throw Jacksonville in the mix. They don't have many players to trade but they will have some early picks, to trade and money to pay him what he wants. I don't want San Fran to sacrifice that much to get him, we have good depth at CB and I would rather draft one early than pay for a guy who may or may not be diminished and lose valuable picks.

You know I kinda wouldn't want to see us give up too much either.

But it's worth a shot to see what he`ll cost.

its all about risk/reward. if revis is even half back to his old self a low first rounder is worth it. of course thats when salary really comes into play. a huge contract for someone who might be gimped is a scary thought

But to be honest I think the value of the shut down corner has gone down, the Jets played well on pass defense without Revis, Cromartie, stepped up and Kyle Wilson played ok. I wouldn't pay the dude more than 9-10 milly a year, and even to pay him that do we let Parys Haralson walk, do we let Dashon go, do we trade Ahmad Brooks, one or two good players, are going to have to leave to accommodate him.

I cant agree with the first part, a decent corner is vital in this league nowadays and a corner like pre-injury revis is huge to a D. put revis on julio jones and latter doesnt go off on us.

the second part yeah. we just dont have the cap room. maybe hed want a ring bad enough ? :manny:

chances are slim to none anyway, seems like FO likes to stick to our guys (maybe even a bit too much)

Yeah I really don't see us a realistic spot.

But I think there are some teams who are realistic spots for him to land.

I think he`ll most likely land with a team that is in the lower 3rd of the league.

The New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers are said to be among the teams "highly interested" in Revis.
:wow:

altho it sounds like agent talking his price up. seahags would be ridic with sherman/browner/revis and they have TONS of cap space....but do they actually need revis ? they could use more WRs and better run D

still dont think we ever come close to making a deal for him
