Ice Cube had the rare hip hop "trifecta" and actually helped to shaped the game. Jay followed a path laid down and splintered off and made his own path too. Cube got Jay-Z in this by a hair if we keeping it straight hip hop tho.......Biased cause Cube is also top 2 in my book even tho Jay-Z is top 5

not sure what the year has to be to do with anything. That’s like saying one athlete a bigger legend than another just because they’re more recent
I’m undecided on who the bigger legend but let’s be clear Jay never from a public consciousness was ever on Cube’s level then when he was with NWA and start of his solo run. His impact across the world was huge in terms of his music and its content. Mainstream news here in the UK was talking about Cube’s music and it’s social commentary. Jay more seen as just a hip hop star and not much more (and I say that as someone who thinks he’s top 3 of all time as an MC)
