If this team does live up to expectations, we're going to see some historic shyt next season (even more so than last) where they just slaughter teams - the voters won't ignore that. Anything around 70 wins plus Durant averaging 27+ points on ultra high efficiency + All-Defensive honors is going to put him in prime position to take it out. That backlash will subside and be replaced with "is this the greatest team ever?" rhetoric as the season goes on.
He may not be awarded with the MVP, but he's proved himself to be the MVP this season. :wow:

He's one of the 2-3 best players in the league, but I have trouble making a big deal about his accomplishments when a large handful of elite players could have been ridiculous in the same role on this stacked team.

He might have been exposed a lot more in a full series with Kawhi, or if Cleveland had more than 1-2 players who could play offense and defense at the same time.

Do you really think that if Durant switched out with Kawhi or Lebron, Golden State wouldn't have won the title just as easily? fukk, put Giannis or Jimmy Butler or Paul George or even Gordon motherfukking Hayward in that spot and they probably still win.

He would've won a ring last season if OKC played the same strength GS squad that LeBron did. :lolbron:

You mean like last season when he sent Kawhi and the Spurs packing in six games? :lolbron:

Probably, but then again my opinion of Durant hasn't changed much over the years - as you know from our Durant v LeBron arguments (which I'm still seeing winning returns on for being right). It's just now folk are starting to pay attention to how good he actually is.

Dankster when are you going to go in on the empty stats Lebron is putting up? After 10 assists in the first half, he only got 4 in the entire 2nd half. I know you LOVE shytting on players that get so many assists in one half and then don't repeat in the 2nd half, so go on in on Lebron for putting up some empty ass stats.

Or you can admit looking at stats like this is a fukking retarded way to go and you're a dumbass for all that Westbrook shyt you said during all throughout the season. :mjpls:

I've been propping up Durant huge as the #2 player in the game for a long time now. :manny:

But I ain't impressed with what he's accomplished this season. You're right that last year was actually more impressive.

How are Lebron's stats "empty" when those 10 assists kept Cleveland in the game in the first half? :gucci:

It wasn't like he started launching shots in the 2nd half - he went 4-6. It was that he only played 18 second-half minutes cause the game got out of hand, and Cleveland wasn't hitting as many shots when he did pass.

Westbrook was getting 10-11 assists in his first 20-25 minutes of play and then only getting 0-1 the entire rest of the game while he took 10-15 shots in a LOT of games.

We've already proven that Lebron doesn't chase 10 assists, so the fact that he got a lot of assists in one first half is irrelevant. :usure:

Westbrook's entire MVP campaign was based on looking at arbitrary stats. :gucci:

I can just see that "KOBE" has mentioned the name "Westbrook" and automatically KNOW he is going to say something wrong.

That's the thing, it isn't even about what he's accomplished this season or what he did last season being more impressive - he's the same player now as he was last season. Yet folks' perception of his game/ability is completely different now to what it was last season. You can't prop him up to be the best player in the league right now (just because he's in the Finals and winning), if you weren't valuing his game the same last season (all because he lost in the WCF).
