Doom pretty much altered reality (or their perceptions of reality) to drive the Fantastic Four apart. In the case of Sue's adulterous frenzy, Doom manipulated her existing desires for Namor so she'd leave the group. Basically he made her p*ssy extra wet for some Imperius Rex.
