They're only in playoff contention because the East is garbage. They wouldn't be a top 8 seed in the West - which in reality would be more reflective of their current talent/ability. It's not about tanking, it's the fact they ain't built for being contenders. They gonna be in the same position next season (unless they make moves) and will just be prolonging the whole process even more.

It's a developmental year, they were supposed to be garbage this season so this extra success is a plus.. They rebuilding for the future and just happen to be in the playoff hunt while developing talent on the team and giving the fans something to appreciate it's a win/win. They can build off what they got and make moves through FA and what draft pick they get.

Not too mention fans get tired of seeing they damn team lose 50-60 games every year a playoff run isnt bad for a team especially a young team

the eastern conference has always been a joke, and raptors were part of that joke. Now they got rid of cancers, namely Turkoglu, Bargnani and now Gay.

They got great talent in Lowry, DeRozan, Ross and Valunciunas .. and plus they got Masai.... the future is bright and this is just the start.

The issue I have with the Raptors is they don't have anything close to a franchise player, and Lowry is in a contract year, you really want him to be the centerpiece moving forward? He's the Raptors best player right now, this dude is Sherman Douglas with more attempts.

The Celtics and Sixers have young players getting development minutes, and they will be adding lottery picks to that core with the potential of landing a franchise player.

that's almost 7 seasons.. 6 years ago. Nikka we'll take anything at this rate. We've gone through horrible seasons. We've had Bargani and Turkoglu as Option A and B

Now we have finally assembled a team that knows how to play on both sides of the court. That's great progress and something i would definitely call success.

They don't need another #3 option or role player. Raptors got Lowry, DeRozan, Jonas and Terrence Ross they got something to work with, Jonas and T-Ross are still developing while getting minutes and DeMar is starting to find his own maybe he can be an elite wing he's making steps. Toronto got more talent than Boston or Philly right now, Toronto looks just as promising as either of those franchises

Re-up Lowry and add another piece to that core, why not lock down a great PG for your team? No reason to just give up and say fukk it and tear up the team and go all the way back to the bottom. They got something to build on right now

It's not great progress at all, like I said above, the Raptors are 'the best of the bad teams' in the East. If your team was in the West it would be a better scope on where they're positioned (in relation to their actual ability), you wouldn't be gass'n them up to this level + you wouldn't have made this thread.

What player in this draft is gonna take them to the next level that's not on their current roster? Y'all really hyping up this draft like it's 2003 all over again. That player isnt there

This draft isnt that great outside of 5-6 players. Indy found their franchise player at number 13, having a mid round pick isnt a franchise death sentence
