So why did the NBA give Steve Nash those MVPs when he didn't deserve them?

Steve Nash was the NBA's 2004-05 and 2005-06 MVP.

As good as Nash was, he didn't deserve those awards, brehs.

They could have given those awards to Kobe, Iverson, Lebron, Garnett....like 8 guys before Nash.

I'm not trying to hate on Nash but c'mon son.
He was just throwing alley oops to Stoudamire and Marion while shooting below-average from the floor and playing lame defense. 1 steal per game avg?

No idea. Take him off the team for 10 games and see what their record would be during that time.

I dunno

Only player who was possibly deserving in 2005 over him was Shaq. Lebron in 2006? He didn't even make the playoffs. Kobe got his ass handed to him by Nash.

2006 he lead his team to an impressive record despite not having Amare. I'm not sure which player you can specifically point to was more deserving.

Nash deserved the MVPs he won; you could argue Shaq deserved it more or LeBron deserved the second one more. You could also argue Nash winning a third MVP in a row. The shyt is always debatable outside of the year LeBron just ran away with the award.

Yall gotta stop using 2015 hindsight to judge awards given out a decade ago, especially when a lot of y'all weren't even basketball fans at the time.

Kobe probably could have gotten it over him both times.
Since when does team accomplishment mean you're a better individual player?
