So why does TSC not like Baron Corbin exactly?

Vince has warped their minds

Now a chisled body and a full head of hair is required to be an effective heel.
Says who? Neville is appreciated by many people for being an effective heel and he looks like a gargoyle. People are only making fun of Corbin's hairline. It's not really a legit complaint.

Big Breakfast needs to work on live promos but he's pretty good for someone who's relatively green

Needs to grow his facial hair out more if possible. Still looking like a youngster out there. And even with him balding he will be ok once he shaves it off. Will probably make him look even meaner for real. Other than that he's good in my book and they have built him up correctly minus not giving him the win at Mania.

  • His tough guy aura is completely inconvincing
  • His attire sucks
  • He isnt in shape enough to be intimidating, fat enough to be a convincing brawler, or tall enough to balance the rest out.
  • His strikes, those jabs, are terrible
  • He has a tendency to be reckless.
  • Everything that Samoa joe is, Taz was a better version.
He is a good hand, most of the time, and I'll never say he's a bad worker, outside of what I outlined, but he is 1/10th as good as his fans think. For point of reference he is better than jack swagger but not as good as Umaga was.

So none of these apply to Baron Corbin or...?

Here's what you're missing: Jake "The Snake" Roberts mic work was impeccable as a heel and knew how to show personality.

Maybe I should have stated this more explicitly in my post, but I was comparing them in terms of (certain aspects of) their look only. I thought it went without saying that Jake is orders of magnitude better on the mic, etc.

I was just trying to point out that, historically, a good hairline isn't a prerequisite to be taken seriously as a wrestler. Though apparently it is now for some people.

If Randy Savage or Earthquake were around in 2017 would their hairlines be an issue for the people whose main criticism of Corbin is his male pattern baldness? Again, it's not about how great or not great they are in other categories. Either hairlines matter or they don't.

Dude got potential but he's still a bit green, both on the mic and in the ring. However, he has come a long way since he got first exposed in NXT and I think if they just let him cook he will make gigantic strides.

In the ring, Baron Corbin seems to understand what it is that he does well, and he maximizes his strengths with deceptive quickness. Sometimes, that's all you need to do.

As far as I am concerned, if he can get on LeBron hairline stimulus package and just continue to grow comfortable on the microphone, I don't see why he can't be a main event heel. I also don't see where people are getting this whole, "He got pushed too fast" schtick from, seeing as outside of the ATGMBR, he hasn't won anything (and he should have won the IC title at Mania in the kind of match he had with Dean on the following Smackdown).

Theme song, check.
Nickname, check.
Moveset, check.
Demeanor, check. I don't look at him and see monster heel. I see a bully that doesn't run when somebody bows up to hit him in the face.
Look/background, check.
