If you go to college because you dont know what to do after high school, you wanna chase some more ass and you just think its what your "supposed" to do, then yes you will rack up debt and be in a worse position than if you never gone.
If you have a goal in mind and know what you want to do, knowing college is a stepping stone to get there, then college is necessary. Getting an Arts, History degree or anything else meaningless in the world of employment & will set you back. Get a plan, get a solid degree, get a career started and use your degree to leverage yourself into higher positions. And pay your loan on time.
I know friends making A LOT (relatively speaking) working at warehouses right now. Thing is, their income will never increase due to lack of education. They may promote up due to experience, but HR usually will place those with higher education into higher positions.
