Brehs, let’s not overreact. What the Eagles did was straight-up greatness. Mahomes ran into a damn buzzsaw.
Remember the blueprint to beat Brady? It was always the same—pressure with four, drop seven. The Giants (twice) executed it perfectly. It ain’t just about edge rushers; you gotta collapse the pocket from the inside and force Brady off his spot. Brady ain't mobile—he wants to step up, not roll out. Giants had Tuck, Osi, Strahan, and JPP wrecking shop. But guess what? The league couldn’t replicate it consistently, and Brady adjusted.
How? He sped up his release even more—quick slants, option routes, RB checkdowns. Pats mixed the hell out of their offense. You never knew what was coming. On top of that, Brady got more mobile in the pocket—that pliability stuff actually helped him avoid sacks.
So can teams copy what the Eagles just did? Not likely. If the league had defenses like that on every team, QBs wouldn’t be out here dropping 300 yards and 130 QB ratings. There’s only 1-3 elite defenses each year—the rest are mid.
Mahomes will adjust. Give him better weapons, and defenses will have to respect the deep ball again, forcing them into softer coverage. That’s where Mahomes eats with his athleticism and post-snap reads with his patented angled throws.
But let’s be real—the Chiefs are tired. Winning at this level is exhausting. They need a reset, not a reload. Pats had many of these 'down' years believe it or not.
Mahomes ain’t here by luck. His standards are just stupidly high. But let’s compare him to his peers, not Brady. Right now, he’s getting dragged because he lacks weapons. Kelce is on fumes, no Reek to stretch the field, and their current offense is just a mid.
Chiefs need to get better. If I'm Mahomes, i'm calling up Brady and do some work out sessions. It's time to make adjustments.
