You forget how big “Get Low” was with lil Jon…unless you was not born yet you know that is when the rap game shifted down south
Bro I am from Atlanta lol. I remember that whole era..I fukk with them heavy but they don’t take precedent over Outkast. They did that in 2000.. Kast came out in the 90s. …they literally are responsible for putting ATL on the mainstream map..What you smoking on?

Outkast and Goodie Mob were outliers

The South blew up after their artistic peaks (96-98)

Stankonia literally came out the same year in 2000. It was far more mainstream than anything they ever made. They were literally the biggest rap group in the entire world that year. They won a damn Grammy . And can’t nobody say the hood wasn’t fukking with Kast :wtf:imma just let y’all cook tho

Brehs we ARE NOT gonna rewrite history to give yin yang twins credit for blowing up Atlanta :mjlol:
It’s kinda sorta not revisionist. DF, LaFace, Dallas Austin and that group brought the music business to Atlanta. The Ying Yang era was the one I’d say took over (and no they weren’t solely responsible but their brand of music was at the forefront).

Well, I was in Michigan bumping Thug Walking, but Atlanta was a factor in the super mainstream after bombs over bagdad.

The next bump was lil jon, a significant one, but the artists on his beats shouldnt really get the credit, like, scrappy and trillville and YYT should get props but that was the lil jon stimulus package, not them.

I'd say they didn't really grow significantly more until young Jeezy. YYT, pastor troy, trillville, scrappy, young bloodz added but those 3 moved the needle

Outkast => lil jon => Jeezy id say
