It’s kinda sorta not revisionist. DF, LaFace, Dallas Austin and that group brought the music business to Atlanta. The Ying Yang era was the one I’d say took over (and no they weren’t solely responsible but their brand of music was at the forefront).
Well, I was in Michigan bumping Thug Walking, but Atlanta was a factor in the super mainstream after bombs over bagdad.
The next bump was lil jon, a significant one, but the artists on his beats shouldnt really get the credit, like, scrappy and trillville and YYT should get props but that was the lil jon stimulus package, not them.
I'd say they didn't really grow significantly more until young Jeezy. YYT, pastor troy, trillville, scrappy, young bloodz added but those 3 moved the needle
