he doesnt NEED cosultation. because he doesnt really care like that anymore. this is what happens when a super hustler guy that never wants to work for anyone to get to mainstream status and he's also over 40 looking like a dad out there(you ever see denzel off the set... dude looks awful, straight daddy jeans/outfits looking 100% unkept). but denzel works for other people. so when its time to put it on he has to put it on. dame is the boss. dames writing his own checks(big or very small). this means he can stay in denzel off set mode ALL THE TIME if he so well chooses. this is something the regular people dont understand and it irks them at times too. do you know why it irks them so much? because all of us even those of us doing well in the regular world of working for others and asking others to give us jobs, parts in a movie, etc, etc. all of us in a little or big way want to be free just like dame. i didnt say be crazy just like dame i said be FREE like dame. so we lowkey hate on people like him when we see them at their free-est. we're lowkey house slaves mad that a slave on the plantation got away and they are free. now granted it aint all cookies and milk as a free slave because if things dont go just right its all on you. one thing is for sure even as a slave. your master footed the bill for lodging(if we can even call it that), food(scraps), etc. if the business didnt go well , the financials was on him. i know thats a serious analogy but i want to make my point. we lowkey are happy mad at guys like dame because we WISH we had the guts to be them. and thats even if you're bringing in 150k a year at your JOB. even if you're an artist making a lot of money touring the world.
again why did dame do that? dame thinks he has fashion sense. sometimes he does. and other times he doesnt. dame doesnt care what you or i think about his fashion sense. he believes in it. dame is also an old man, he doesnt care that much just like most old heads dont care about what they wear ESPECIALLY people that are their own bosses. lastly, he wanted to show off his basic looking socks that he had made.dame was doing same .

back to dames a holish ways. some of that stuff was uncalled for, other times he was a means to an end. he was a necessary piece of the roc and for those artists. without a dude like him they would've made a lot less money and got raped by the likes of def jam and universal / whoever else they had dealings with. lastly, when dealing with a lot of young black dudes from the hood with young men/hood tendencies. you have to also act like a street/hood nucca to get their attention. this is again similar to suge and deathrow. as much as i didnt like should physically abusing people. i could understand how he may have had times where he had to slap a young rapper or two because they didnt understand how serious this entertainment game was and how much money was involved.a bunch of young thugs that got kicked out of their mamas house at 16, dropped out at 15 needs someone to get at that hard and fast otherwise they dont respect authority. so as much as i didnt like that approach i can understand why he acted that way towards a lot of those people. and again it made that label super successful. now obviously if you go to far then it will go the other way.
