Everybody on their phones.
There's always that idiot that walks around recording video (in vertical too :scust:).
Groups of girls doing snapchats of their lame dancing while sitting in a chair throwing up peace signs.

:scust:

Lame as hell.

When's the last time you actually went to a good party? :jbhmm:

2 weeks ago, but the girls were on their phones some of the time. But, they was also dancing and kicking it with us. I think they were on the phone, trying to contact their weed connect.

If you want to go to a good party it definitely has to be for the over 25s...... probably over 30s...

Like what?

And it hasn't ruined parties at all.

People are on their phones taking pictures for like a max 10 minutes

Yes, and not paying attention to anything around them. People getting hit by cars cuz they're too busy tweeting walking into oncoming traffic. People walkint into walls and othe rpoeple on malls with their heads down. Go to a restaurant and people are on their phones taking pictures of the food and posting it. People lacking social skills cuz they're too busy typing everything. Got these young people at work that would rather chat than walk over and ask you a question.

Social media has helped in a lot of ways but has fukked a lot of things up. It's undeniable.

OP is bang on target.......

I have been known to check my phone at parties but that is more because a nig is trying to keep up on the NBA scores :mjcry: :mjcry::whoa::whoa:

but yes no cell-phone parties would be a very good theme for a party promoter to throw.....

Some reggae/dancehall/soca

Good drinks

If you are in an area with a sizeable west indian population like New York or Toronto you would make a fukking mint

I`m glad my time of partying was from that period of 2002-2010

I can imagine all these socially awkward kids nowadays

This isn't social media's fault at all, snapchat has just revealed something that's been happening before the existence of social media.

Pre social media, the only way someone who wasn't at a party knew you were there is because of all the post party conversations and depending on the party, being there would increase your social standing among your peer group, e.g. "yeah I saw Matt in the cut getting danced on", this is no different than the getting likes on an IG video, only difference now is that IG is proof that "Matt got danced on by some chick last night".

People in here talking about fun are doing so dishonestly in my opinion, they may even be oblivious to it. "Fun" is a side affect of parties, when you cut through all the bullshyt, the purpose of these parties is to increase ones social ranking or use your present social ranking to receive benefits which may include access to women, sex, and attention, which is another reason why many of these parties are very exclusive, if your social ranking isn't at a certain level, you're literally not wanted at the party, and if you do manage to get in, you're practically shunned by the people with higher social rankings.

Parties are politics under the guise of having fun. Social media is simply a tool that people can use to increase and even artificially inflate their social ranking with the goal of receiving benefits based on that ranking.

The only thing "no-cellphone" parties would do is increase the number of people making pre-party videos. People would literally be snapping seconds before they had to give up their phones and once they did hand them over, they'd spend a lot of the time regretting it because they can't see how many likes, views or DM'S they may have gotten during that period.
