Instagram fukking up your feed with posts from two days ago and folks you don’t even follow is what killed the platform for me.

remember when you could see who liked what? :mjlol:
Yup hence why I don’t have an IG no more I was tired of random fukks I didn’t follow in my feed.

But that feature was crazy :dead: pretty sure my friend killed his IG years ago cuz of that with his wife getting mad at his likes :russ:
shyt was a relationship drama starter :mjlol:

Would’ve went better if they didn’t use that hyperbolic title. Social media obviously isn’t dead.

But it does make a good point about people feeling the need to “curate” content as opposed to just posting glimpses of their lives. On IG, people are far more active with their stories cuz those automatically disappear after 24 hours than they are with their posts which stay up until you delete them.

Social media in the mid 2000’s and early 2010’s>>>>

Social media used to be a place where you could share your creations, post casual photos, interact with others and have a joyful time

IG went downhill when they changed the algorithm from chronological order. What’s the point of posting if we can’t see what our friends post? The constant bots and spam is a letdown. Lastly, influencer culture influenced the road for perfection.

What’s funny is that internet clout is just that. Being famous on the internet is like being rich in monopoly.

Tik Tok is just Vine 2.0. The difference is engagement on Tik Tok is far better than IG. You can find anything of your interest if you curate your feed.

Every app wants their user to pay for play. Even YouTube is adopting this stance

Social media nowadays is a shell out itself. More people are throwing out the towel for a private life.

I hopped of social media a few years ago kuz I stopped seeing the point. Not much of a need for networking cuz i meet new people pretty often and if they not in a higher place, they prolly know people in higher places, or know somebody that know somebody.

No real reason to post constant updates kuz half the time I don't be doing shyt that I feel people need to know about, and when I do do that type of shyt, I rather they hear about it. After so many times of linking up with somebody I ain't seen in a min and they tell me "Yea bro I hear you doing ______ now thats what's up" im like why should i feel the need to share everything I do with all these folks, especially when only a few actually give a fukk?
Etc etc

Hella people still use that shyt tho for friends, networking, ads/promotion, and branding so it's not going anywhere. I don't even know why time was spent writing an article about some made up bullshyt or why op decided it was worth posting here.

Thecoli counts as social media, and this hoe dead as fuk and there still be a lot of movement and entertainment so somebody lying

Hyper consumerism is what has happened with social media. The article is highlighting how most users are not posting to their feeds, overall engagement is down, basically users are either consuming content or messaging folks.

Curation is king and when you come across a page that's completely raw it's either refreshing or concerning 😂

What the article is saying is that according to the powers that be, social media as a data mining, survillance, data collecting, social programming, social engineering has served its purpose so theyre moving ahead to the next thing which will be the metaverse. This will usher in totalitarianism Instead of you telling them whats on your mind on fakebook, theyre going to read your mind, invade your thoughts and control you with their technology.
