It ain't dead to me. I pulled a high profile Nigerian actress on FB back in 2018 and we still keep in touch. Last week on WhatsApp I told her I was interviewing a local chick to replace her and she said , "I guess you chose her already. I'm happy for you. Anyways, your happiness is what matters." 
Yesterday while looking for something I saw the name of another Nigerian chick that I met on Twitter and looked her up on linkedin
And saw she finished her masters in geology and has a job with a gold mining company. We couldn't get serious because of the huge age discrepancy.

I deactivated FB several years ago now and have no other socials.
I come here for the type of shyt I might do on FB. Except here it's fairly anon and people IRL aren't in my internet biz.
More of a pure intellectual exchange instead of having the real life social component on top of the idea exchange.
Essentially, capitalism has found every corner of the web. What used to be the wild West web is now more like a big ass corporate amusement park with ads and guard rails everywhere.
