Thats disgusting to take that much time away from your family:troll:
I do feel like I play too much as it is. but I'm only around half way through the game (MGSV), and other dudes here finished it last week

MGSV is the first game in a long time that had me staying up to 4am and shyt. it's not just that it's a good game, but it also has that addictive "just one more mission..." quality

I'm not talking about you, I mean compared with what other dude is saying. Other dude just discrediting games, reducing them to "Just better graphics, sequels, rehash, remake, remaster blah blah." and then outright calling games trash without having played them.

Y'all gotta look at shyt in context, 2013+ compared to the start of last gen and two years into it the gaming industry is a different beast. AAA games are much more riskier, games are much more ambitious so it takes time and on top of that the adoption rate wasn't set in stone so that explains lots of cross platform games. Hell, konami thought PS4 wouldn't be selling as much so they played it safe and designed Fox Engine for last gen too to be safe.
There's imo, a good amount of games that are on next gen right now that justify buying one.

Don't look at it from the "I got a GTX 980TI with 32GB RAM and 2 2TB SSD's running in Raid-0 :stopitslime:" angle.
If someone jumped from a PS3/360 to a PS4, not only is he getting technically and visually superior multiplatform games compared to it's last gen counterpart, he also has RIGHT NOW access to:

Bloodborne

Driveclub

Resogun

Until Dawn

Then if said person haven't really played some classics last gen due to be a 360 gamer, he can pick up TLOU Remastered which is superior to the PS3 version, Uncharted Collection which drops next month and is a REALLY good looking and improved remaster compared to the typical "1080P and 40-60ishfps" remasters and then you got upcoming titles like Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront etc.
that was me... talk about assumptions

first off, this ENTIRE thread is based off one thing... and the OP even checked back to agree with me about his point

the one and only thing being argued is A GAME THAT NEVER CAME OUT ON ANOTHER SYSTEM, IS AAA, AND IS MINDBLOWING............ is taking entirely too fukking long these days... when games with those 3 criteria matches, came out waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before going on the third year of the system being out

that's just one point... so i'll edit down your list for you based on that (even though i've played and beat every single game listed except resogun)

that's a total of 4 games left.... 99% of them coming towards end-mid year 2

all the hell we are saying is it didn't use to take this long and people getting their panties in a bunch, moving the goalposts to the damn parking lot

yes there are great games on next gen.... same damn games can be played on a ps3.. so what the hell i shell out 400 for a ps4 for? i want THAT game

i mean from your post... it seems you are in exact agreement... you even explained the why's, which nobody really touched on before

but at the end of the day... people want to act like it's not even a real thing and we are just nutty

That's a whole different argument and it's subjective because we don't know what everyone is playing. If there's newer games coming out all the time, of course people won't be still playing older shyt. On top of that the games you're talking about people care about a year later are usually MP games since they're infinitely replayable. My list of games aren't MP games and let's be honest, there wasn't many games with longevity last gen that weren't MP games. Most games you played and finished back then.

A SP game will be memorable even if it's not being played years later. I still remember how impactful TLOU was even though I only played it once and dabbled into the MP here and there . It still was incredible.

Newer games in franchises come out like clockwork nowadays so of course "those games" will be forgotten.

From that list, people will still play Bloodborne once DLC comes out but then a few months later Dark Souls 3 will launch so people will be moving onto the newer thing.
Batman Arkham Knight is a one done deal.
Driveclub I still play time to time since there's new updates and stuff coming to it periodically.
Witcher 3 is a one and done deal.
Middle Earth same.
Resogun was a launch game.
Mortal Kombat X I don't know that's a fighting game I don't follow them like that.
Until Dawn was an enjoyable play.

The real "meaty" games that will be played for long time are basically MP games such as Destiny. A big expansion dropping this week but ya'll gonna say it don't count since it's just a cross gen game.
Halo 5 drops soon which I'm sure if it's dope will hold people over for years.
Idk man. It just sounds like y'all don't really want to play anything. There's a bunch of games out, I don't even have time to even play em all.
i guess to put it simply as i can....

if game companies knew these systems were coming years in advance.... they couldn't time the release of some MAJOR games to come out in the first few years?? they couldn't time a flagship franchise release for day 1... another for year 1... another for year 2

it's going on year 3 and we talking about finally getting uc4 and halo..... 3 years in!!! we gonna see god of war and gears at 4 or some shyt... 4 damn years into a system? they gonna drop gta 6 on the last year before ps5...

The real problems always circle back to how massive budgets are now. 1 flop can and will close a studios doors.

That leads to a a market where taking risks is something nobody is wiling to do except in the indie space. And hell, even the indie space is stuck in a trying to remake old games place. So many indies are 2d platformers with a gimmick. Which makes say no mans sky look interesting because it just looks different.

The AAA market has never been more stale than it is now. Everythings either an open world game or an fps. Which,as genres, have a lot of things that could be explored but arent. Open world has an infinite amount of possibility but instead its filled with boring fetch quests and collectathons. Every game looks like every other game.

Were in a place where people are excited about halo games still because the new ips that do come out are just rehashes of old franchises.

So was Forza and Killer instinct not ready day 1?

Yall keep moving the goalposts back and forth. On one hand you try to discredit sequels. Then on the other hand you ask why aren't they releasing sequels.

This isn't true at all. Only recent open world game with a bunch of boring quests is GTAV which yall praise to high heaven:stopitslime:

Yup, people just started enjoying sequels in 2015.

Even though super fukking Mario brothers is a sequel :martin:

1 franchise for each system. No more franchises for two years

I haven't moved anything. The OP says not playable on previous systems. I stuck with that. Remakes is the problem. Sequels still playable on a 360 is a problem

We just used to more. That's all. You don't have to Stan these devs. Facts and posts have pointed to the how's and whys. Only a select few are trying to pretend it ain't happening

Moving goalposts again:comeon:

You go from saying there was none, to now saying there was only one. And even that's not true. The first year had new IP like titanfall and sunset overdrive. But I'm sure you'll find reason as for why those don't count

Not one of the games I've listed is a remake or playable on last gen.

No. Facts don't backup what you are saying. From the criteria you set forth "new aaa IP at launch that has not been on any other system"

There's literally only A few games ALL TIME that fit this criteria

I had Titan fall. For 360. so why would I count that?

Come on now. I'm done with this. There's no way we sat on 360 or ps2 talking bout. Damn it's year three and we got maybe 2-3 titles on both systems. And still non of them mind blowing except multi system joints

No one is saying that but you.:comeon:

And it's only been two years. You can't even get that right:snoop:

So tell me 2 years in for PS2 which titles were new aaa ip that couldn't be had on any other platform, and were mind blowing generation defining games. Don't just give me random wiki list. Which games?

i'm going to have to believe you have no reading comprehension. you're not gonna shape the narrative into what you want it to be... so lets start from jump

Been contemplating on copping one of the two consoles , but I personally don't see any reason too since 360 hasn't been discontinued , no generation defining game has been release (To my knowledge atleast ) and new games are still being released for the previous generation .. it's been almost two years and nothing profound has transpired since the 8th generation of game consoles made it's arrival , shyt is looking lackluster to me I'm starting to think the gaming industry going through an innovation drought

no GEN DEFINING game.... new games still being released on PREVIOUS GEN

I played Until Dawn at my mans house a couple days ago on his PS4 , its a great game but can you really put in the "Era Defining" criteria also seeing that it was initial suppose to be released for PS3 ? Same thing with Metal Gears Solid , great quality game but at the end of the day it's another sequel . Either system needs an equivalent to how Halo was when OG Xbox first came on the scene

so again the OP defines this as something not on old systems... something that was mind blowing like the first halo

so i said......
remember when systems wouldn't even launch without 5-6 game changers on the release day:ohlawd:

then it slowly went to 3-4 months :yeshrug:

now what the fukk is this shyt :mjcry:

no uncharted, god of war, gears of war, halo.. barely any games developed purely for next gen.. none of them AAA

i mean don't get me wrong.. i'm enjoying what's dropped.. but i was just thinking of this same thing the other day.. where are THE games we all wanna see... that game that makes you :merchant: cause you can't even believe it's possible in a game yet

point being they launched back in the day... going back to ALL the systems... not just ps2.. with a shytload of games... then as a year 1-2 they dropped a shytload more... and they weren't being played or made for the previous gen

how you trying to box me in a corner.. saying aaa, new ip, only the ps2.... i don't know... cause i for damn sure listed these already and went back to NES... now you want the same list again? just pull the great ones off the previous one and there you go

but for the record... i'll play your game... i mean there were only over 200 ps2 games released in the first two years.. but this shyt ain't dying down. nah

gta 3... first 3d, third person, open world gta came out first year... then vice city in the second year

tekken tag tournament... the universal best tekken and first to start the tagging format, dropped first day... only to be followed in 2002 with tekken 4 which completely redesigned the game

first ever nba street dropped... i won't even accept that cause it's similar to nba jam.. but people still asking for another one

the first devil may cry dropped.. still a solid franchise to this day

Ico came out in the first year... still one of the highest rated ps2 games of all time

the first ssx... the first midnight club.... breh i'm not even on 2002 yet

the first red faction game came out... and so did the second one in the first two years

gran turismo 3 came out

silent hill 2

metal gear solid 2... and it wasn't on ps1

victorious motherfukking boxers :mjcry:

first ever jax and daxter game released.... then within two the very first ratchet and clank

breh... i'm in dec 2001.... ps2 was dropped nov 2000... i still have another year of games to go.... not even mentioning too many sequels i could that was playable... not even mentioning there was a whole nother system in xbox that had it's own games..... but lets continue on

oops.... almost forgot max payne

the first ever UFC game was released

bloodrayne dropped... first of the series

THAT'S THE FIRST TWO YEARS.... and i was being nice ONLY naming but 3 or so sequels... when i could have picked a lot more, since they weren't on other systems

now i'll allow you to pick BOTH current gen systems.... and list the games.... same criteria

released from day 1 until two years from that... fukk it... add anything that's slated to come out during 2015 later on too

same criteria... must not be available for previous system... must not be a remake of game on previous system (pc don't count cause they constantly update)... and i'll just let you cook with that... come up with a better list :sas2:
