tekken tag tournament... the universal best tekken and first to start the tagging format, dropped first day... only to be followed in 2002 with tekken 4 which completely redesigned the game

first ever nba street dropped... i won't even accept that cause it's similar to nba jam.. but people still asking for another one

the first devil may cry dropped.. still a solid franchise to this day

Ico came out in the first year... still one of the highest rated ps2 games of all time

the first ssx... the first midnight club.... breh i'm not even on 2002 yet

Yes its a sequel,but all sequels arent created equal. Some sequels like gta 3 or mario 64 are revolutionary and change gaming. Then you have sequels today like ass creeds and cods that are just reskinned games over and over and over

The game was trash, no better than ryse. It didn't inspire anything within the gaming world. The ip was used later for movies

Ryse set the benchmark for graphics tech, that most games won't even come close to this gen

Battlefield is pretty much a different game with the gameplay capabilities available in the next gen version.

It was a huge jump from the ps2/xbox to ps3/xbox360.. I remember playing NBA 2K9 on the first xbox then finally copping a 360 and playing the same 2K9 on that and was shocked and blown away at the jump in graphics and gameplay. I'll eventually cop one of the newer systems and I know they're leaps above last gen but I'm not seeing that mind blowing obvious jump that the last gen had over the previous one before it. Hell I can even cop the new Metal Gear Solid, Madden 18, NBA 2K(when it drops),etc on the 360 and be satisfied and content in the meantime. Maybe they should stop making these new games for last gen-cross platform and let them die out.

it's been said about 150 times already... that this gen wasn't that great a leap... that it definitely wasn't that great a leap as other gens.... that the budgets are too high... that they aren't cranking out games like they use to... that the games they put out now can be played on previous systems

The gameplay has improved even more so. They are not the same game at all. Improved physics, A.I. Ect.
