It's actually a genius move if done right. Every game having cross-play has potential. Just like online play being a social platform worth exploring in games was originally a PC idea that Microsoft adapted.
But do the xbox one heads want to play with the PC gamers. besides what was the point of having an xbox one exclusive if it's not truly exclusive anymore...this guy was saying forcing everyone into one closed circle is bad for business...
Microsoft exclusive is exclusive. I don't why people choose to pretend like Windows PC is separate from Xbox. If it doesn't drop on Playstation and Nintendo products it's exclusive. Cross play will bring more people to Xbox Live, which in turn will rake in more customers and build a larger customer base. Microsoft is going the community route, a more popular platform and loyal customer base is better than simply saying
'spend 400 dollars to play exclusive games for another 60 dollars'. Microsoft is building an all-in-one platform/ecosystem.
seems like they doing this because xbox one was losing the so called console race and getting stagnant.
Nope. PS4 sold more in the beginning because of price, and for no other reason. Every gamer likes Xbox Live and their ecosystem better than Sony.
