SOHH.. the Lakers are going to use the stretch provision on Westbrook come Summer 2022?

Would you stretch Westbrook’s $47M 2022-23 salary over 3 years?

It only makes sense as a trade and its the only reason we'd want him. 50 mil expiring all wrapped up in one player? huge for a young team that's gonna need to pay a lot of guys and add one more key fit guy too

even if Russ decides he wants to sit out, that's still a win for us
Yeah I don’t see it

I think he gets free to sign anywhere

Waiving an expiring contract is extremely shortsighted and stupid, it'll fukk the up books for 2 more years on top of the upcoming one and effect how the team's built until 2025

It would be too stupid so that's why I fully expect them to do it
Russ is the only problem according to a certain section. Get him out the paint & we’d be a top 2 seed this season with Nunn

The Lakers can find someone to take Westbrook's expiring contract. They would have to at least give up a protected pick though.

The only trade LA should make with Houston is:

Westbrook & protected 1st rd pick for Wood, Gordon, Schroder SnT
