I'm not sure if conflating homelessness with "affordable housing" is helpful

Back in the day, even crazy junkies had their own apartments.

Moreover, people become homeless for more than just smoking meth or being Bipolar.

not sure on that tbh or if it's relevant without pretty wide data sets

absolutely, I guess the case I'm making is that we need more supportive housing not just roofs which is expensive at least in ny

ultimately we need laws to address homeless people who are mentally ill and dangerous and seem to causing the largest share of trouble

I don't think states can piece meal this without laws and federal funding


living in ny I can tell we've barely scratched the surface and so many people have been displaced
