People date at work. It is what it is.

Most HR departments do a very good job at sexual harassment training to lay down the rules on what's harassment vs. a declined offer, etc.

Most HR departments dont care about people dating unless there's a possibility of one reporting to the other, then they'll try to separate the couple to different departments to avoid conflicts of interest.

Now of course not every employer even has an HR department. And contract situations are more difficult to control.

MeToo started as a serious, valid initiative for women and girls being forced to have sex or to be sexual against their will. A very valid conundrum with merit.

The media unfortunately is focusing on all these fringe cases and attention whores have co-opted the movement to where it's turning into a joke. Most media stories are focused on celebs, athletes, journalists, politicians, etc. People in unconventional work arrangements where the relationship is very unclear.

The sexual harassment campaign of the 90s - the commercials where they said "that's sexual harassment, and I don't have to take it"

That was a more valid and down to earth movement than this glossy hashtag mumbo jumbo that's going on. The commercials were corny but it seemed more sincere than the paid media interviews that are fueling this current wave.

:mjlol:

That only counts to higher ups in companies who can influence stocks or structure of the business.

Modern MeToo is much larger than you are painting; all it takes is for one employee to say they feel uncomfortable around x and x is gone now. Without proof, it’s best for the company to not fight it.
