lyrically, i ain't heard a nikka this nice and sharp since mos def came through in 98' with the blackstar album with kweli and then his own album in 99' with black on both sides album:whew:

but kendrick lamar is the truth. this is the nikka who's got hip hop on lock and in a smash :myman:

he's miles, leaps, valleys and peaks past his peers; drake, j cole, big krit (this nikka nice too though!), asap rocky/asap mob, big sean, and whoever is runnin' laps far behind him in this marathon of hip hop and rap music :wow:

ain't none of his peers comin' with the shyt he's writin', the songs he's puttin' together, better produced albums etc :whew:

2 classic albums so far. yeah, both good kid, m.a.a.d city and to pimp a butterfly are classics. section.80 is the shyt too. kendrick is the best mc in hip hop and the rap game now:ohlawd:

lemme put it to you like this, i ain't impressed with hip hop and rap music as a whole no more but i'm a fan of kendrick's and the homie is breathin' life back into this lost, flabby and sick genre of music. thank god! :blessed:

I agree, I never made a cohesive arguement against Kendrick as a rapper. But that wasnt my intent, I just listed a couple reasons why people don't fukk with him. That's all.

I'm not shytting on Kendrick for wearing his influences on his sleeve. I'm just saying that he's not as groundbreaking, content wise, as he's being sold, because he wears his influences on his sleeves. regardless, most of Kendricks notoriety comes from the way he designs/structures his albums. GKMC became the instant success precisely because of the groundbreaking way he structured the album. Not, neccesarily for his rhyming.

Also:

I never said shyt about his talent.

I never said shyt about his sales.

I never compared the quality of his art to those of another artist. The future comparison was based solely on the stylistic characteristics of each artists music. Future simply makes fun music to listen to. Kendrick doesn't. That's why people wouldn't be as receptive to kendrick.

*******
Btw:

IMO, hiphop doesn't need more artists like kendrick. The less backpackers and TDE, the better.

We need more artist like Mobb, Wu, Ghostface, Redman, Outkast, Killer Mike. etc.

Artists that got skills and content but are still highly entertaining with charasmatic personalities to boot.

if you don't hear it in his music, i don't know what to tell you then :yeshrug:

but kendrick is that nikka who's leadin' the way right now. he's ahead of the pack :wow:

as for what we need more of, we need more muthafukkas who actually got talent to be in the game, come in and do their thing and not hop on the next trend like the majority of these nikkas do. we need a balance of the way it use to be in the 90's. there was a balance of shyt from the east to west to the midwest and down south

in the 90's there was a plethora of great music comin' out from all over. not to say it won't never no wack shyt but there was far more great music than there was wack

:yeshrug: tbh I can't be too mad at him, he's confident and wants to take the world over, why not. Plus he has every single media outlet saying he's God with a microphone, so at some point it gets to him. But yeah the whole Pac thing is def pushing it too far.

:ehh:

That's fair.

Would it make any difference if I mentioned that the quote came from an essay Kendrick wrote about himself titled
I Know I’m Chosen. I Know I’m a Favorite”?

It's about how he's been anointed a prophet by God to be a leader of his generation. All of his success was not an accident. That it a was only after the success of GKMC that he finally accepted his spiritual role...

Not really. This type of shyt was going to happen anyway. Because the good shyt is out there, and it ain't that hard to find IMO

If this makes any sense to you. Corporations aren't in it to make/put out the best Products, they're only thing is to make money.

What y'all See & Hear is literally the same handful of Companies that've always been here's "products" (if you will). Same vision, same plan, same executions. "If it ain't broke don't fix it". And once you understand that then you can see past some of the smoke

I mean. How long does One plan on sitting on the Couch watching television playing music all day anyway . If you ain't "trappin" (whatever that may be) then wtf u doin anyway...

You nikkas are so corny. Typing essays trying to convince someone that greatness is mediocrity :laff:

"Uhh uhh it's his voice :patrice:"

"Uhh uhh it's his skill level, too high :patrice:"

"Uhh uhh he's too poetic :patrice:"

If I asked you to provide some receipts, would you deflect and run away from discussion like you always do? Use gifs/smilies instead of using words like you always do? e.g. :snooze:
