Here's where I think alot of the post-GKMC backlash comes from. It has little to do with his talent but all to do with his style. This issues are:

1. He's incredible corny. From the sanctimonious consciousness to the crying on tracks, and the different voices. You can't help but go

(This GIF usage doesn't reflect an endorsement of Drake) (Don't bring stan wars into this).

2. His style is highly poetic. If every track he dropped was in the style of Hood Politics. This thread would be unnecessary. Instead, he favors a wordy poetic style with subtle metaphors that at times is the equivalent of audio

4. Dude is crazy emotional. Alot of people aren't the type that want to connect with their emotions or the emotions of others. so when one encounters an artist like K.Dot, who pours pure emotion into every verse, it can be uncomfortable to regularly listen to. :scusthov:

5. People already have heard artists like blackstar, D'angelo, The Roots, etc. Dude doesn't get credit for bringing back that soulquarian style. He ain't really saying nothing new. In fact, I've yet to hear some mind blowing relevant ions or insights from K.Dot. His fans greatly exaggerate his Impact. TBH, I would say that Chance the Rapper is a more groundbreaking MC than Kendrick.

6. He along with J.Cole has brought on a resurgence of backpackers.

7. He's not that fun to listen to. Say what you want about future but there's something viscerally exciting about his music.

Your credibility is bushes status from this day forward.

The only two artists worth listening to today are Kendrick and Vince Staples, and the latter more so tbh. His bars >>>

Maybe Earl too.

Point is, it's few and far between. We're gonna have to accept we won't get rappers nearly half as original and mind-blowing as the likes of Redman or Common or Rakim etc.

a) You're quick to deflect to Rocky even though this thread has nothing to do with him.

b) You have selective reading skills (due to cowardice). I asked for quotes plus an explanation. You just dropped a bunch of quotes and scurried in true coward fashion.

c) You think Kendrick is miles ahead of DOOM which tells me that you have no idea what a good rhyme actually is. And frankly, you probably don't know shyt about 98 Mos Def either. It just sounded cool so you dropped it in.

another cursory-knowledge hip hop wannabe:snooze:

no quotes? yeah, nothin' more to say here. peace, bruh :mjlol:

Aka "the Top Dawg."

You're going to talk about credibility? LIke you're being objective? fukk out of here breh.

So I think that Chance the Rapper is a more inventive rapper than K.Dot. that's blasphemy now?

Chance is more unpredictable with bars than Kendrick, that's it. That's my oppinion. Anything else you take from that is on you.

I don't fukk with Kendrick and Pusha is definitely the better rapper.

you can say that kendrick makes better projects maybe but not rapping. Pusha on hell hath no fury is one of the best performances from a rapper on an album. I havent seen kendrick match that at all.
