This probably isn’t the best time to discuss this considering the current economic climate but....

Me and my boys were discussing this in our WhatsApp group. Whilst we agree the gap between the rich and poor is growing at an inexplicable rate (and even more so now), there are just people who aren’t going to ever aspire to be more.

And yes, I’m aware that there are structures put in place to keep the rich richer and the poor even poorer BUT, there are those of us who don’t allow the circumstances we’re born in to define us. Some people are just going to be bagging groceries until they die, flipping burgers until their knees give in.

Like I don’t get how people get to their 30s and still work in the same dead end job and make poor decisions. You’ve had years to find other skills, trades or avenues to make money. And yet you get mad at everyone else except yourself for your own poor decisions?

There’s a reason why we have home owners and life time renters.

This is a "Corporatist" mentality

It's a mentality predicated on structured industrialization. Giving you a set job title, set job description, set pay, and we're not allowed to stray away and add to our wealth

The Corporate caste system promotes a set rigid "minimum wage" and "salary" instead of promoting "side hustle" and "small business"

Everyone on earth, even if they are a low earner, can make extra income through creating their own small business

some people seriously want those jobs.
are they destined? no. there's a lot of people in those jobs that are very talented and smart but they just don't know how to move ahead to better positions.
this goes into bad school systems, the system designed it this way and so on.

I agree that some to many people are going to make low wages whether it be by choice or happenstance, but what I don’t like is when people pocket watch/money shame those who are in that unfortunate predicament.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to make a decent living should be grateful, but also be compassionate towards those who are unable to have the same fortune.

This isn’t the time to be clowning and roasting people who may be struggling because that could happen to any of us! People are losing their jobs, getting laid off or their hours are being slashed. These times call for people to come together and figure out how to survive this pandemic....

Society is a pyramid. Yea tha largest percent of people will be at tha base but those higher up shouldn't be full of themselves. They wouldn't be there without tha support of those below them.

:mjlol:

The higher ups look at us like peasants.

Think Cersei Lannister.

That's how them CAC billionaires look at the common folk

It's funny cause without tha common folk that societies are mostly made of a Cersei Lannister would be a wild animal's dinner. :yeshrug:

some people are lazy and allergic to knowledge and advancement, I know that much is true. so many objectively false posts on here and elsewhere on social media that could easily be disproven by a few seconds of research.

Real talk

I'm 35 and I still work a minimum wage job, a cart pusher at that

(the only reason why I dont stand out is because I look super young for my age)

So it might be easy to dismiss me as "unambitioned"

But what people dont know is that through out my 20's

I was actually the founder and c.e.o of a startup that was doing thens of thousands of dollars in revenue every year

But because I'm just a poor African immigrant with limited resources

I wasn't able to continue with my company and had to shut it down due to FDA action

So moral of the story is, yes, some people are just destined to work at the lower levels of society,

Social hierarchies do exist, but there also many people stuck at that position due to unfortunate circumstances

We dont know peoples stories
