Do your research. MD is technically the south. Slavery and Jim Crow run thru the fabric of this state. I can trace my roots back to slavery right here in MD on my pops side. Not to mention a lot of people here have roots in the Carolinas and Georgia from the Great Migration. But this area is a heavy mix of north and south
