Who gets their first ring:
SGA/OKC

Who benefits the most:
That’s tough. If Ant wins a chip this year, that would mean he eliminated Steph, LeBron, and the player most likely to be named this years’ MVP (SGA) from the playoffs. That’s an absolutely insane playoff run and if he wins it all, he would be further cemented as the face of the league, irregardless of his interest in marketability and/or his f*ckery off the court with the women. Plus the significance of his age (23) when he wins the title would make it more legendary.

At the same time, Brunson/KAT winning a chip for the Knicks after a 50+ year title drought? Succeeding when Ewing, King, Starks, Oakley, Mason, Houston, Spreewell, Marbury, Amare, Melo, and so many others before them came up short? Two players with local ties leading one of the most popular NBA teams and the team in largest market to a championship? The impact of such an accomplishment would be crazy. They immediately become immortalized forever. They’re Derek Jeter status in NYC. They can win 10 rings somewhere else and it would never hold as much weight and/or importance as winning a ring for the Knicks.

Halliburton has the most punchable face I've ever seen :hubie:

If he wins I'll be really sad.

NYC getting the chip with this squad would make them legendary.

SGA would definitely benefit if he is the league MVP as well

Ant Man it would definitely help him out. I think if he stays low-key with his personal life, it would do wonders for him.

It's too late for that.

I'm honestly unsure if Minnesota beats the Warriors if Steph played the whole series. But it would be quite the run.

Haliburton

He and the Pacers learned from the loss to the Celtics last year in the playoffs

OKC have hometown advantage and they seem unstoppable in Oklahoma.

But the like Gil said, Halliburton is the biggest underdog and most hated. That would be biggest :pacspit:
Pacers are a smaller market and some feel Haliburton overrated...but that Pacers team goes 10 deep. Knicks winning will be huge and great for league but I wonder will Thibs use his bench properly to deal with the Pacers strength in numbers.

Yes he outcoached Mazzulla last round but Carlisle is a good coach. Mazzulla outcoached him last year some but Hali being out towards end of series helped.

Thibs will need to use his bench and be tactical with rotations. Bridges, Kat and even McBride can add value this series. Bridges making game winning plays in close games again would be huge.

I think you have to put your money on Shai leading the Thunder to the title.

Who benefits the most? Probably Haliburton because he's somewhat disrespected by fans and his peers. If the Pacers win it, that gives Haliburton the ultimate F-You as a defense for all the flack he's gotten. That's not to say that it elevates Haliburton the most, even though it sounds like the same thing.

I think it elevates Anthony Edwards the most, since he's already a darling for the type of basketball fan that gravitates toward these brash players. Edwards getting a title likely means some kind of showing out by him, which is sure to draw tons of attention.

Brunson winning the title makes him a forever legend in New York. Whatever Pedro and Schilling became in Boston after 2004 is what Brunson would be to New York, possibly bigger. I just hesitate to say it puts him on this high scale nationally or globally because Brunson has always been a modest and quiet player. I don't think it's really in his personality to milk a championship the way Edwards likely would.

SGA probably benefits the least, only because he's already a respected great player. But he's kind of under the national consciousness like Brunson and Haliburton. And nobody's gonna care about the Thunder anyway. It's doubtful the average fan can even name more than 2 guys on OKC.

Haliburton benefits the most. All of the disrespect and nonchalant attitude towards him ceases. It probably doesn't elevate his status, but it's a big FU to the league and his peers.
