Dont get me started ...it dosent take away from fact that he is right. I take care my health by the way ...and trust a lot of men feel that way they just cant articulate it . It has nothing to do with his health cause its some unhappy men in marriage and the that also means the women can be happy runing or managing that marrige. And it mens fault for not standing up. I will say this its hard to stand up in a society when that same society would shyt on men for have the philosophy of a patrice oneal when it comes to relationships ...and that same society I cant have respect for. Hell they treat black women waayy better than black men. They wont yall to make more money and be super independent ...that way there wont be no black family ...but I wonder do women get that. A lot of women need look up what the goverment did to black homes in the sixties .

Having a family in america is truly underrated. There is a certain level of security that a person has growing up that most likely cannot be attained through a singleparent household. Really there is a certain quality of life that comes from having a support system that many miss out on.

But as far as marriage it would off made sense to do it when women were not held on an even plane as men. I'm 22 now I can't find a reason for myself to get married if I have to compromise myself as a man. Being married is putting yourself in jeopardy especially when women don't value men like that because y'all "can do anything that a man can".

Okay I went overboard when I brought up the man's health. I apologize for that. I know that there has always been a war on Blacks but you have Black men from other countries leaving majority Black nations to come here and prosper. Also, even if BM stated making more money they would just marry into other races and enrich those other races since so many are raised in single parent homes. Not sure I can agree that BW are treated that much better considering that we are on the bottom and White women get treated better than us. The breakdown of the family structure via low marriage rates is the root cause.

I remember thinking to myself ever since high school how do females get these good ass jobs. I was a junior in high school and this girl I knew had a job at a bank. Even though it was just above minimum wage at that time it was weird how someone still in high school could get that job. And I later realize that people are willing to hire women before men because they are easier to take advantage of. You can bully "laquisa" into making sales percentage double while you talk to "Jamal" crazy you gonna that righteous ass whooping. It don't matter that Jamal look better on paper and looks to be an well rounded individual you need somebody that will guarantee exceeding expectations and you know will not put a fight up against your unjust ways.

There was an article that came out last year about Black American kids saying that marriage was for White people. The same sentiment was uttered in this thread about marriage being a Western institution. This outlook on marriage is the symptom of the plethora of single parent households that has raised this generation of Black Americans.

Hubby knows about O'Neal. He was funny but he had a similar outlook on marriage that Chris Rock has. Rock is definitely unhappily married. He has fame and fortune and now is smelling himself so I feel he wants to upgrade from the girl who was with him when he had nothing to "whiter" pastures, if you know what I mean.
