Women have always chased beauty trends. Today's BBL was yesterday's skinny.

Why?

Because women know that their beauty is their social currency. It affects how they are treated, the opportunities they get, the type of man they can get, etc. It's like @KingJay implied. You get money, social validation, etc. And more.

Telling women to stop and to "have a higher self esteem" is as about as useful as telling a man to not worry about having a decent job and being confident. It's worthless and dishonest.
