Hold The Phone – Mike Tirico Isn’t Black? | Barstool Sports: New York City

... But he’s seen pictures of his father, his father’s mother and his father’s sister – all of whom are white, Tirico says. ”The only contact I had growing up was with my mom’s side of the family. And they are all as white as the refrigerator I’m standing in front of right now,” Tirico says, standing in his kitchen in the Clay townhouse where he lives.
...
Blah... What can I say?

From my personal experience some black Americans and Puerto-Ricans from New York (and surroundings) tend to have this fascination with Italians. It's mostly the young misguided ones who idolize the mobster type and grew up watching too many Scarface and GodFather movies but other educated ones be on that sh!t too. Heck, I know and seen some Puerto-Ricans who even used to try to pass for Italian. But that was mostly late 90s and early 2000s tho
Sounds like being Italian is something to take a lot of pride in in that area of the North-East. :ehh:
SO... let's recap
  • Mike Tirico has been raised by an Italian family
  • Was told he is Italian
  • Has only seen Italians in family pictures
  • While growing up in a region where Italians are put on a pedestal as the thing to be.
And you clown wonder WHY he refuses to face the reality even tho it's staring him in the face?:heh:
Careful who you idolize, brehs. All you clowns with your Scarface themed apartments and GodFather worshipping fools. Was it Whyclef or De la Soul who said every negro trying to be Italian? The Ether:ahh:

YeS but in Tiricos case it's more about the fascination with Italians that plagues minorities from the North-East.

See my first post in the thread. Not sure why but Italians seems be be held in very high regards there. So obviously if he was raised by an italian family, told he was Italian while going up in an environment where being Italian is put on a pedestal then OF COURSE he'll fight the fact that he's anything other than Italian with every inch of his being
