His rap career didn't help him reach these heights.

Now he is hosting a network TV show, doing commercials, has his own show and co starring on another show?

I can't imagine Nick being in demand or having a huge fanbase.

For one thing, he's a great host, knows how to interact with people, has a lot of skills people don't appreciate. Also he obviously knows how to cater to the business, and expand his brand.
