And don't overlook the fact that it is in the Turkish constitution that the army has the right to stage these coups; a right Erdogan has been trying to change along with the constitution.

From my understanding it's from Edrogan pushing towards a more theocratic government (Islam of course ) while the military is there to maintain secularism. If this is the case I wish the military luck.

Though also heard from some Turkish people saying it might be a government false flag so Edrogan can consolidate power.
