How you know I have an Afro? But nah, I grew up around only black people and go to a HBCU. I just like having hair on my head. I don't see how you're c00ning by wearing hair on your head.
Lol I thought about tagging you too. But that's not what this thread is about. I love men with hair.

I know how coli likes to twist things around so I expected that. It's just interesting to see who read and understood and who jumped to being defensive.

Wearing an afro doesn't mean you are a c00n or out of touch with black culture. I'm saying I find it interesting that often when a black dudes is surrounded by white people, he usually rocks a fro.

Guys in the hood wear fros too but they tend to get shape ups and take care of it where it still looks current stylish, hence I said they rock it with swag.

Other dudes, rock an old school looking afro, where it looks dated like that's the only style they know of because they don't know how to take care of their hair or they just rock it same way a white kid might where a shag style. But it's not just the fact that they wear a fro but a lot of the times that's the only way they style their hair.

Then I noticed a lot of comedians a actors that play token black or are mixed and grew up with white families have afros.

Basically, its like black people have a culture of taking care of their hair and appearance. Having it look polished and being trendy. That's why hairlines are always discussed.

@HideoKojima You already know, because people always ask you, when are you gonna do something with your hair. That happens to everyone growing out their hair; either that or they ask are you trying to grow locs.

ahh i see a parallel to the natural hair and women deal

That is interesting thought. Because a lot of women who date white men, feel comfortable wearing their natural hairstyle but they feel black men want them to have their hair "done".

A lot of black guys I've met who've either grown up around white people, love white people or wish they weren't black rock or have rocked an afro.

But it's not like their just trying to grow out their hair. It's not styled like

It always looks old school, like the tried to achieve the Corbin Bleu

But realized that their hair is too nappy and just picked it out.

It ends up looking like this:

Is this a good indicator of not having many black friends? Or just not having access to a good barber?
:lupe:

Has anyone else noticed this as well?

Disclaimer: Not every afro wearing black man comes across as this. Just the ones with a lack of swag seem to often rock an afro.

When did afros go from a symbol of Black Power...
